fashion show tugcan dökmen
fashion week london 2017
summerset house, london
collaborator: felix koch
tugcan dökmen is a renowned london based fashion designer. her ss18 collection combines pastel colours with transparent and translucent materials generating complex overlays and constantly varying colour nuances. the ss18 collection mainly uses light tulle materials which contribute to the distinct lightness and ephemeral appeal.
classic paintings of nymphs and nature can be found amongst her references. working with these images the pop-up installation tried to approach the transparency and ephemerality found in her work from a different angle.
horizontal ribbons made of plastic foil generate a reflective and transparent maze depending on the viewers perspective which was inhabited by the models during the show, similar to nymphs hiding in their waters.
